Commission Pieces
Commission Pieces
Commission a one-of-a-kind piece from Shade Mountain Pottery and bring a personal touch to your home or gift-giving. Each commission is handcrafted in Pennsylvania with thoughtful design, durable function, and artistic detail. We work with you to develop a piece that fits your needs — from dinnerware sets and pitchers to vases, planters, and sculptural forms.
How it works
Consultation: Share your ideas, measurements, color preferences, and intended use. Photos and inspiration are welcome.
Design: We provide sketches, material and glaze options, and a timeline. Small adjustments are included.
Production: Your piece is handmade and fired in our studio. Production time varies by complexity and glazing schedule; typical lead time is 4–8 weeks.
Delivery: Local pickup, shipping, or white-glove delivery options available. Final payment is due before shipment.
Pricing and deposits
Pricing depends on size, complexity, and materials. A non-refundable deposit reserves studio time and covers initial design.
We provide a written quote before work begins and keep you informed of any changes.
